Privacy Policy
At file.CoShareX, privacy is not an option—it is built directly into our core protocol. Learn how we safeguard your transfers.
1. End-to-End Encryption
All connections are negotiated directly between endpoints using WebRTC. DTLS encryption is mandated at the browser level, ensuring that data is encrypted in flight. Your file payloads cannot be read by intermediate routers, signaling nodes, or third-party ISPs.
2. Zero File Retention
We do not possess cloud databases, file caches, or intermediate storage disks. Files are split into packets, streamed locally, and assembled on the recipient device. Once the transfer is complete and the tab is closed, no footprint exists on the web.
3. Cryptographic Key Ownership
Cryptographic keys are generated inside the browser sandbox during the connection handshake. These keys are never shared with our signaling server. Decryption authority remains exclusively on the sender and receiver devices.
4. No Logging or Tracking
We do not deploy profiling cookies or tracking scripts. We only configure basic HTML5 local storage settings on the client side to preserve user interface options (like dark mode configurations).
Our peer-to-peer architecture ensures full compliance with global privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA) by design, as no user file content is ever stored, cached, or processed on our servers.
